About Heat and Cool Brothers

We’re a York Region and Markham HVAC shop that grew on referrals, not radio ads — and we still answer the phone like people who actually run the trucks.

We’re not trying to be the biggest name on a billboard. We’re trying to be the crew your neighbour calls again when the furnace groans in January.

— Heat and Cool Brothers

How this shop actually grew

Heat and Cool Brothers started the way most honest trades do: show up, fix it right, and let the homeowner tell someone at the rink or the grocery store. No mystery fees, no “we’ll send a different guy next time” — just the same standard whether it’s a no-heat call in Sutton or a full Lennox changeout in Richmond Hill.

Over the years that turned into a trained crew, a Keswick shop on The Queensway, and a Markham office on Yonge so we’re not asking you to wait half a day while a van crawls across the 404. Word of mouth still beats any ad budget we could buy.

What it feels like when we’re in your house

You’ll get a real explanation — what failed, what’s unsafe, what can wait until spring — before anyone talks about new equipment. We take photos when something’s cracked or rusted through so you’re not taking our word for it. Boot covers, drop cloths, and a mechanical room that looks better when we leave than when we arrived aren’t “extras” here; they’re how we’d want our own families treated.

If a repair is throwing good money at a dying compressor or a heat exchanger that’s seen better decades, we’ll say that out loud. We’d rather lose a small repair ticket than have you mad at us in August.

Why “Brothers” is in the name

It’s not a franchise badge we bought — it’s the tone we want on every truck. Show up like family, charge like professionals, and stand behind the work when something needs a second look. You’re not routed through a call centre script about “premium comfort ecosystems.” You’re talking to people who pull vacuum to spec, label the panel, and know the difference between a heat pump that’s sized right and one that’s going to ice up every February.

That’s the culture we hire for: curious techs, tidy installs, and follow-through when a callback is the right call.

Two offices. Same habits.

Keswick at 430 The Queensway S is home base for a lot of Georgina, Sutton, Pefferlaw, and Simcoe-side work — lake humidity, older duct quirks, and winter wind off the water included. Markham at 7711 Yonge St keeps us closer to Richmond Hill, Stouffville, and the central York corridor without changing how we commission equipment or document rebates.

Same phone line. Same booking flow. Same “we’ll put it in writing before we order parts” rule.

Licences, Lennox, and the paperwork nobody loves

We’re licensed in Ontario (FS-R-50171), an authorized Lennox dealer, and stubborn about AHRI matches, pre-approvals, and rebate forms that actually get paid. Codes change, refrigerants change, and program PDFs change every season — our techs train because -25°C doesn’t care that last year’s manual is still on the truck.

Tricky high-velocity retrofits, fussy modulating furnaces, heat pumps that never hit setpoint — we’ve chased those gremlins before. If we haven’t seen your exact setup, we’ll tell you that too, and bring a senior tech or plan extra time instead of guessing on your dime.
